Costa Coffee wanted to launch its new ice coolers range, promoting both coffee and fruit coolers, using the unpredictability of the British Summer as its inspiration. The one week campaign ran across large format key city screens and in malls on both large and small formats.
Costa Coffee created a poster execution for each ice cooler and, using rules based on weather conditions and temperature, were able to vary the ads in keeping with the weather.
So weather conditions were brought into the copy and matched with creative – clouds would move, rain would ‘drip’ down the screen and the sun would shine, dependant on the prevailing data.
In addition the Liveposter platform enabled geolocation of each poster site to show directions to the nearest Costa Coffee outlet as a call to action to purchase.
